Safety

The 500e has standard whiplash protection, which use a specially designed headrest to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the whiplash protection system moves the headrests forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. The Charger doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

Both the 500e and the Charger have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, driver alert monitors, available blind spot warning systems, front parking sensors and rear cross-path warning.

Warranty

The 500e comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Charger’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 14,000 miles sooner.

The 500e has a standard locking charge port with a power remote release convenient to the driver. The Charger doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

Tires and Wheels

The 500e’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Charger Daytona R/T Coupe’s standard 55 series tires.

Suspension and Handling

For better maneuverability, the 500e’s turning circle is 8.5 feet tighter than the Charger Coupe’s (31.5 feet vs. 40 feet).

Chassis

The Fiat 500e may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 2750 to 2800 pounds less than the Dodge Charger.

The 500e is 5 feet, 3.5 inches shorter than the Charger Daytona Scat Pack Coupe, making the 500e easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The 500e is 1 foot, 1.8 inches narrower than the Charger, making the 500e easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.

Ergonomics

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the 500e has a standard rear wiper. The Charger doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Fiat 500e has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the Charger.
